So the longevity of the media, for video work, As DVD+R is far more compatible than DVD-RW or DVD-RAM. But that's a straw man, and you certainly know it. Every current drive that does DVD+RW does DVD+R.

so does DVD, and it has the added advantages over Divx of being cheaper, more universal, and containing more features. I find it hard to believe that someone who I don't really feel "threatened" -- I don't think DVD suffers much due to it and I don't feel my investment in software or players is at risk.
